west of San Antonio International Airport and main ranch roads are
easily traveled by automobile.
DIRECTIONS
From San Antonio & Houston:
Take I-10 West, through San Antonio, towards Junction
Exit #490, Hwy 41 to Moutain Home
Go West on Hwy 41 to Hwy 377 (approximately 60 miles)
Go South on Hwy 377 to Rocksprings (approximately 8 miles)
Continue on Hwy 377 South by turning right in "town" (across from
grocery store and Diamond Shamrock gas station, which is the last place
for fuel. If it's after 10pm, everything will be closed)
Go about 1 mile through "town"
Go Left at fork, staying on Highway 377 South
Go South on Hwy 377 for approximately 38 miles
Go Left on Ranch Road 2523
Go approximately 2.5 miles to Carta Valley Wildlife
From Oklahoma:
Take I-35 South
Stay South on I-35 until it branches to I-35 West and I-35 East, just
before the Dallas/Ft. Worth area
Take I-35 South/West towards Ft. Worth
As you come into Ft. Worth, take Loop 820 (Northwest Loop) to I-30
Take I-30 West to I-20 West (you will be headed towards Alilene)
Stay on I-20 West for approximately 100 miles to the town of Cisco
Take Hwy 183 South, to Brownwood
Hwy 183 runs into Hwy 377
Turn Right onto Hwy 377 and get in the left hand lane
Hwy 377 will make a sharp left in the middle of town, stay on Hwy 377 to
Brady
In Brady, go around the courthouse and stay on Hwy 377 to Hwy 190
Take Hwy 190 West, to Menard
At Menard, take Hwy 83 South to Junction
At Junction, take Hwy 377 (again) South to Rocksprings
At Rocksprings, continue on Hwy 377 South by turning right in "town"
(across from grocery store and Diamond Shamrock gas station, which is
the last place for fuel. If it is after 10pm, everything will be
closed)
Go about 1 mile, through "town"
Go Left at fork, staying on Hwy 377 South
Go South on Hwy 377 for approximately 38 miles
Go left on Ranch Road 2523
Go approximately 2.5 miles to Carta Valley Wildlife
When you get to the gate:
Enter at main gate on the Left: stone wall with black lettering and
silhouette animals
Follow main road, cross cattle guard and continue straight ahead
Follow road to fork, go Right
Headquarters is at the top of the hill (total distance from gate to HQ
is 1.2 miles)
